SwedeCenter Appointed Architects for Business Garden Wrocław

Following a design competition, the architects of APA Wojciechowski architect studio have been chosen to the third environmentally friendly business park of SwedeCenter in Poland Business Garden Wrocław. SwedeCenter part of the Inter IKEA Group puts great emphasis on the respect for the natural environment and the tenants’ comfort. The experience of the above architect studio in similar projects was one of the factors deciding about the selection of the winner.

The Business Garden Wrocław will comprise 8 buildings which will provide a total of up to 120 thousand square meters of predominantly office space. Business Garden Wroclaw will be the third and simultaneously the largest project realized under the Business Garden.  The Business Garden Wrocław is designed on a 7-hectare site. The first buildings comprising the complex will be commissioned in 2014. The Business Garden Wrocław will be located at the intersection of Legnicka and Dąbrówki streets, directly next to the Mikołajów railway station and opposite Magnolia Shopping Centre.

Business Garden Wrocław, Business Garden Warszawa and Business Garden Poznań will all be developed in a manner in line the procedures for obtaining LEED certificate - Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The LEED certificate confirms utilizing environment- friendly technologies and systems. Certified buildings are characterized by high quality of building materials, technologies reducing media consumption, water recovery (inclusive of rain water recovery), air quality control and natural light access.

The first Business Garden project, totaling 90,000 square meters of offices, hotel, restaurants and conference space, is currently under construction in Warsaw and first phase will be ready for occupation in September 2012. The next Business Garden is situated in Poznan and totals ca 80,000 square meters, its first phase will be released to the market successively in years 2013 and 2014.

The decision to appoint APA Wojciechowski took into account the holistic approach of the architects, the flexibility in arranging the space and the architects’ experience in the application of the concept of the sustainable development design. The architects of APA Wojciechowski executed office projects featuring an area exceeding half a million square meters. Szymon Wojciechowski, the President of APA Wojciechowski, expressed his satisfaction with having been awarded with the contract and said: Business Garden Wrocław is certainly one of the most interesting and challenging designs in the history of our architect studio.

Roger Andersson, the country manager of SwedeCenter, summed up: Wrocław is a strongly developing business center which is attracting representatives of the IT and BPO sectors, resulting in a healthy and stable office market. The construction of the Business Garden creates a chance for  more tenant friendly office solution for leading local and international occupiers.
